Reflections on: Finished Community Bojagi Quilt, Vibrant Matter beginnings, Riverbed Porcelain
Further exploration Fishponds Brook:
Porcelain thrown on riverbed (dry) Fishponds Brook. Left the debris on two, I am amazed they were fired but very glad they were. Riverglass has melted and cracked, mud exploded into sand, Granite fused with the clay, natural glazes have been formed and melted onto the surface. (These may be fragments from old pottery?)
Paint wash run over surface to pick up highlights and low lights.

Hand built trays for texture, plan to fire with found river glass. Potentially could collect mud and wash out sand and organic matter and fire with debris, I think this could work with unfired clay - could press this into the clay body. Could be worth trying. perhaps inside a bowl?
Beginning to think about Vibrant Matter:
Hoarding, and the potential of objects that are otherwise rubbish, are they rubbish?
'Call' of the object
Loss of Vibrancy/Vitalism
Context change
Quilt handstitched to slow me down, allow me to reflect on the year.
Made from 100% donated/found materials from the folks on my road.
Each square represents a house on the street, a real support hub over this testing year.
I wanted to hang this to allow the sunlight to pass through and see what effect this has visually. Is it like the Light at the end of the Tunnel?
