I have chosen the images of the works by the artists Jenny Saville, Lucian Freud and Francis Bacon because their paintings utilise the media to create raw, visceral images, denying beauty to the model, exposing a darkness of the sitter or the artist. These images show how the artists deploy the media to achieve their outcome.
