Painting onto textiles and paintings that look like textiles

(Idea for displaying textile, nails on a board)

My true love is textiles, especially preloved. Old bedding, towels, quilts, clothing, table linen. I want to infuse this into my work whether it is 2D or 3D. Whether I am working on textile or being inspired by textiles for surface decoration or form. 

Artists who use textile/wallpaper patterns. Artists who paint onto clothing or use this in assemblages.

The question is how I do this. Use of a technique, use of the textile as a canvas, use of textile pattern for inspiration for ceramic surface design or transferance to another medium. Art wear, art quilts.

Then consider the visual language to make the work identifiable as my own.
