No Great Women Artists and Men against Decoration

Reading the seminal essay by Linda Nochlin, ‘Why have there been no great women artists?’

She looks at the question from a different perspective, she shows the importance of explaining and  questioning why this could be the case rather than making excuses or trying to find examples.

Fundamentally to be a great artist you need; a good education, support and to work very hard. And if you are not pushed down these routes, it could be very difficult to become great. This is a generalisation but important to - work really hard!!!

This is really great because they admit that it might be biased etc and they are helping their case by the choice of quotes. (And other reasons too, but I like people who are aware of what they are doing)
