River glass -> Vessel?

I have collected more river glass with my son, and some river pottery...there is still so much to find, the stream literally runs through a Victorian? landfill. I love the photos of the small scale leaning sculptures and have kept back glass to develop this but I am keep to make a vessel with the remainders.

It is very easy to make tacky seaside art with river glass which I want to avoid.

So I have been thinking today how they could be joined.

Zoe Hillyard, Broken and ceramic bowl, wrapped the fragments in cloth and patch worked bowl back together.

My tests, after trying to wrap the glass in thread, which could work, if you wrapped each one and stitched together but I don’t know if the tension would be enough to hold a form.
I am thinking about glass under Muslin which could be wrapped or in pockets. The light shines through still but you can see the features of the glass until light is behind it.
This might be no bad thing?
