Fabric Family Isolation Unit Vessel - Outcome

My outcome for my own personal fabric vessel. I began making these marks in paintings and ceramics almost as soon as I had my son, so they feel closely linked to my art as a mother. I used them here, almost innately, on my fabric. The Text displays 'Self, Mother, Wife', did I write them in order of importance? The text is almost tearing out of the form, or suggesting that this an internal struggle. I liked the handle so much I plan to use this technique for all of my husband's vessel.

Husband Father vessel. Finishing strips of fabric with stitching used in the handle of the mother vessel. Creates a link between the forms, idea of similarities or agreed ideas etc of the husband&wife or between partners. I am specifically making vessels for my family unit which happens to be male&female and are married. This by no means suggests another form of unit is not appropriate. It is our isolation. I chose a basket weave to 1. Learn a technique 2. It suits my fairly engineering-type husband.

I like the idea that the child is a patchwork and a closed vessel. The growth of a flower and the petals open. The child at a young age is a sponge to the parents/carer ideas and experiences and is yet to develop their ideas.
