Research historical ceramics

I visited the local Library in Fishponds to see if they had an Gestalt Psychology books, this was a big ask, and they certainly did not have this. However, I stumbled across two books on ‘Bristol’ pottery. Namely the company Pountney’s who had a factory a stones throw from my house, but sadly closed in the middle of the 20th century.

I was drawn to these 1930s pieces of kitchen wear. I think by the stylised but simple forms and the use of pastel shades.

Using this as inspiration? Glaze inspiration?
The association with women and the kitchen.

It feels lovely to embark on a ceramics journey whilst living in a town with a rich ceramic history.
