Making at home

In the first instance I felt I had to respond to the Covid-19 crisis, and with a little humour. The idea of stockpiling toilet roll just seemed a little absurd, since you know, we all have a jug and some water if things become desperate, but we can't eat it when the food runs down.

My ideas for the list project had been pretty social, and we are having to keep 2m apart...so that isn't going to work presently.

Resources are limited to what I have at home. (although I am aware I can still online shop, it doesn't feel as fun as limiting yourself).

My initial response was to choose common list items (ones that appeared across several lists), and using the packing, plaster TOILET PAPER, BOG ROLL, LOO ROLL, over the words. Since loo roll is the only thing one needs in a time of crisis. The list items are apparently defunct. I have chosen to use craft or embellishment techniques to elevate the packing, which is single use, to something more sacred and special.

-> I need to work in my sketchbook more, develop surface design/font ideas/colourways etc

I have also been looking at the ideas of Gestalt or wholes, perception and planes, which relates back to the idea of list completion and the Zeigarnik effect.

Unfortunately I have not been visiting the supermarket much since I am not supposed to, so I haven't collected many Covid-19 Lists (I have one!!! and it is great!!!)

I am also recording in my art book items which I have not been able to purchase when shopping due to the lack of food etc in shops.

I am thinking about the idea of list writing relieving stress and crafting relieving stress. By my crafting list items/onto items, is this in a sense completing a task?
